On the ties I feel my weight
Jimmy pulls ahead
nose to ground
in a rhythmic bob
"Stop"
We listen
No deer today
Just the water over the rocks
in an endless roll of energy
Eyes search for moss
Queenly green of the hill
I need more moss
Never enough
