Forgive me but flying will always be astonishing



Louisville was so gray every day and I really didn't like it and I said it was like the world was muted, under dirty water.
Paul said it just seems worse than west coast gray because midwest clouds cling higher in the sky so the gray looks bigger and echoes on longer.

When we lifted off the ground,
the clouds slipped a bit
And the other side
was brightly blue.

I looked again
when we were back
below the clouds

and the branching shadows
of waterways cut into the ground
and the horizon couldn't be further away.

New York was lit from the outside in and I
was still searching for my prompt.
